Rifugio Alber (ex Albergo Marcesina)
The history of our mountain hut begins in 1860, as a border guard barracks in the heart of the beautiful Piana di Marcesina, in a prealpine mountain area where the extraordinary beauty of the place is one of the most interesting points of the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni. The hut is run by the Peruzzo family and offers all the comforts of a modern alpine hut: accommodation, typical mountain cuisine and a bar.
In summer you can enjoy the many itineraries with your mtb or on foot. We are a landmark for nature walks lovers, mtb, and horse trekking with riding stables available. You can discover the territory following the network of military and forest roads, suitable also for the less expert hikers.
Next to the hut you can visit a small church dedicated to San Lorenzo, protagonist of some local legends. The small church was rebuilt in 1925 after the bombings of the First World War (the bell tower remained substantially intact). The area was in fact affected by important war events during the two Wars.
